Cruising is where the money Is!

 Growing fleets of cruise Ships?

Owners of existing fleets are now modernizing their fleets, by not upgrading existing one, but building more newer ones and the success of them is they are getting almost fully booked for the year for each cruise!

Some companies have allowed rich people to buy a suite on board and have it for life as they slowly tour the world, this was so with the Aurora that got stuck in Belfast with engine problems, but recently was able to get to Brest in NW France, before heading for the Bahamas?

Despite the demand for new fad ships, many of the older ones are still popular, bringing back the days of cruising from the various Agatha Christie novels of luxury travel and a more refined catering, servants care and less people on a much larger modern ship!

Cruise Liners.

Ever Bigger.

Comfort and pleasure and new experiences are now what is demanded in the cruise liner business. Comfort and styles with good food has been replaced by shopping and thrills. These ships are getting ever bigger and perhaps the future will see glass bottoms and more underwater as well as over water experiences.

Today there are many kinds of vessels operating in this role, by the big companies. but some people demand something more old fashioned and smaller ships from paddle steamers to steam ships are meeting these demands of luxury over gimmicks and avoid mass shopping to a more selective purchases.

New Combat Aircraft Types. Part-One.

The Islamic Caliphate of Syria and the Levant (Iraq).

We are hearing them called 'ISIS, ISIL, Islamic State' and they our in the media 24/7 globally. The United States is committed to a new air war over the region and we will see the deployment of new types of aircraft such as stealth, improved Cruise missiles and Predator-Reaper drones/UAV.

The F-22/35, F-117 will join the older types which still remain effective, Britain, Australia and a host of regional Arab nations have joined the coalition to help the Iraqi army re-form and the Kurdish forces in the north.

The last air war was the fall of Yugoslavia in the 90's, and after initial success one loss of an F-117 lead to foot soldiers being deployed.

Cruise Liners. Part-One.

On Cruise.

Many people when they come to the end of their working lives or have made a win on the lottery dream of going on a world cruise. This type of ship has been designed to provide for that luxurious adventure, it will technically be a floating hotel with everything includes, swimming pools to casinos, shops to theatre.

Food and fine dining to fast food and snacks, gyms to fitness games and massage/saunas. This is the modern vessels. Originally this was only for the rich and privileged few. If you watch murder mystery's such as Agatha Christies, Poirot you see several episodes on ship travel like the River Nile.

Others films have been made about the Titanic and there are many more famous true and fictitious world films and series covering the matter.

Drones.

Pilot less Aircraft.

The drone was chiefly developed by Israel for reconnaissance missions in hostile territory, such as South-Lebanon. IAI developed a series of drones, the Ranger and Scout which could be launched from a mobile unit using a small air strip.

Israel also worked on the now abandoned helicopter drone Helistar. but it is the U.S. who have gone one step further and have invented a plethora of types. The Predator is probably the most well known of them, some of this is shared with the cruise missile computerization.

Drones are far cheaper and safer than risking the lives of aircrew in a hostile environment. Civilian casualties will always remain a factor in war of any kind.

Costa Concordia.

In the light of the Costa Concordia.

What should be the future of the cruise liner industry?

It is ironic that 101 years ago, after the sinking of the Titanic and its fatal collision with an iceberg in the N-Atlantic Ocean with the loss of 1800 lives.

The problems then were that the vessel did not have enough life boats. This time possibly 30-40 people have died, because of a mistake?

Why has no one learned from the past, ship builders and shipping lines seem to be greedy and believe their ships will never come to serious harm.

What a fallacy for any man made object.
