British Class-66's Easter-European. One.

Hungary and Poland.

Many of the privatised rail freight companies operating in the U.K., also now have similar operations in Poland and Hungary and the older Class-66 locomotives have been sold on to do the same work as in the U.K.

This is the beginning of using the Channel tunnel pay for itself in the movement of minerals and cheap goods for the supermarket chains! Shenker is one of the biggest operators now taking over operations in Eastern-Europe.

Some of the Class-66's have been sold on to replace the aging former Soviet or East-German fleets locomotives, which are way behind these Canadian built engines and are more reliable.

Romanian-Yugoslavian Aviation. Part-Two.

SOKO Jastreb J1/RJ-1.

This is another joint aviation project that this time made money through exports to Zambia in Africa! This aircraft was derived from the G2-A Galeb, and again based on the Rolls-Royce Viper turbojet.

Top speed was 820 kph and height achieved 12,000 metres, armaments were three Colt-Browning 12.7mm machine guns and a huge variety of rocket, bomb and missiles.

The J-1 was for the Yugoslavian air force, the J-1E export version, with improved electronics.

The RJ-1 was a reconnaissance version and the RJ-1-E was again the export version.

Romanian-Yugoslavian Aviation. Part-One.

Orao/IAR-93.

This was a joint venture between the two named countries above to develop a single seat fighter based around the Roll-Royce Viper turbojet engine. Speed was in excess of Mach1.6, with a cruising height of 16,000 metres and a 1 minute36 seconds to 36,000 feet (11,000 Metres).

This was some aircraft used as a ground-attack fighter and not really reported in the west, at the time of a viable fighter jet. It was armed with two 30mm cannons and had five hard points capable of carrying 3000 Kg of mixed weapons loads?

Entering service with both the Romanian and Yugoslavian air forces in 1974, a second two-seat trainer and reconnaissance version was proposed as the IAR-93-B

Nano Technology.

Shrinking Computing.

With this ''around a long time technology'' a breakthrough in its use, is allowing it to be adapted and fitted to a host of systems! Space will be one of its best platforms to shrinking Satellite sizes, even down to that of the newish basic computers?

These basic computers have been around for a while and they allow the ability to connect other devices such as screens, storage devices, printers and other! This means that the days of the laptop may be coming to an end?

Power and computing capacity still remains a problem and the return of the desktop is coming back, but this is perhaps due to thefts of mobile phones and the 2 in ones which is lucrative for criminals in relation to on-line banking!
