Shipping containers has always faced problems in rough weather, because of the ships listing some containers fall off and are lost! But this is about to all change with a new type of fixed ribs being built to hold a certain number of boxes in place!
These vessels may look a bit strange or ugly to the eye when empty, but this new system will save the insurance of goods a lot less and the safety of other shipping having a collision with underwater or surface floating containers?
These are on of the main changes, there are few more to do with engineering and rig support vessels and their ability and stability to work at sea, cutting out the expense of installing rigs until it is definitely confirmed that a potential profit will be made from either gas or oil!

These are but some of the strangest ships on the worlds seas today, moving mostly cars and jeep types from country to country.
Between 5-7000 vehicles may be carried and stabilisation of their loads are crucial in case of slippage, Many also carry mechanical excavation equipment and farm machinery.
This allows for choice of different types to be available across the world. some may be also carrying military vehicles under the guise of civil and other tracked type heavy vehicles.
Civilian shipping covers a host of military exports and imports and this is seen across the board in commercial merchant shipping. Those thousands of containers, may contain more than meets the expected eye?

Cargo Ships. Part-Two.
Container World.
It was the introduction of the container that has changed the world, we now can have anything and everything exported and imported in a metal box. The mordern world is built around the container, which can be carried by road, train, large transport aircraft and shipping.
These containers are available in various sizes, I have noticed that in India and Ireland they are smaller and are perhaps easier to handle without the need of a fork-lifter or crane. But the disadvantage with conainers is that they are good for hiding criminal goods and are hard to detect by police and customs.
Old containers are not heading directly to the scap yard, but now being used in housing projects both in the United Kindom and the Netherlands, while in Canada units are employed for small business start ups.

Levitated Rail and Mono-Rail.
The Future and near Future.
Technology and new concepts are ever advancing, speed is becoming more of an issue for the railways because time is money. Conventional high speed is improving with straight tracks from A to B/Z but there are other possibilities now available in Levitated or magnetic rail and advancements in mono rails.
Cost will ultimately be the down fall to some designs, while others may be constructed on a small scale? The railways around the globe make money on freight, the movement of containers and minerals which are essential for modern living.
Current proposals are only for high-speed passenger movement and countries with large land masses and big metropolitan areas will benefit from this new future travel concepts.
