The company who built this first one is planning a second in S-Korea for 2023 and it may not be the last, with the opening up of the Artic ice sheet Russia, the U.S. and Canada with Norway will want their own ships to do similar work!

At times we do live in a horrible world, with people taking advantage and exploiting those trying to escape poverty and war?

The role of this type of shipping has developed from smuggling goods and contraband to know recovering dead drowned bodies. Narcotics is still a major problem and so is illegal fishing and the wrecking of boats to claim insurance.

Seas have become places to cross in flimsy craft, it may not look to far on the map? But it is immense in reality even crossing at the shortest point. The ancient mariners took days to do a 13 to 26 mile trip and it had to be chanced in fair weather. Today boats are abandoned by the smuggling crews in all sorts of weathers.

Most of the worlds navies cannot afford a separate force, so they encompass their smaller vessels to do this work. 

Many new tactics are now developed and employed in observing and intercepting, including surprise in the early hours and during storms to get one off guard.

This is some realy old stuff, but back in the 1970's West-Germany, the police introduced a robotic policeman to guide traffic and for years no one actually ever knew that he was not real.

This robot in a police uniform had authority and respect, he stayed out in all weathers and no one ever thought anything was strange.

Today our train driver or other roles could be in the hands of robots, and we being so busy now with technology, emails and the various sharing sites, would not take notice.

Fishing Boats.

There are three kinds of fishing trawlers/boats, inshore, deep water and production vessels or factory ships.

Today many people are describing the fisherman as the reaper of the sea. But we are also being told by the medical world that fish is a good food for fighting many illnesses, such as coronary heart disease and diabetes, because it contains large amounts of Omega-3 oils. 

Fishing has been one of the oldest professions in the world, and for may so called third world nations it is their only source of revenue.

But admittedly the introduction of certain type of nets, factory ships has resulted in over fishing and the decline of certain breed, disease of various kinds, because of the breakdown of the food chain in the oceans.

Fishing boats are built with massive hulls below the water line to be able to deal with difficult sea conditions. The crews who work these boats do take great risks going to sea in all weathers. But basically all the vessels have similar equipment, just on different scales.
